A Message from our 2011 Campaign Chair

randy
  • Hello! My name is Randy Dhein. I have the distinct honor and privilege of being the 2011 Campaign Chair for the United Way of Inner Wisconsin.
  • I was born and raised in Wisconsin Rapids, attending Mead School and Lincoln High School, graduating in 1968. I served 7 years in the United States Army and recently retired from ERCO Worldwide’s Port Edwards plant after 32 years of employment. I serve on the Board of Directors for the United Way of Inner Wisconsin as well as the Board of Directors for Mid-State Technical College.
  • My wife Bev and I are members of Trinity Lutheran Church in Port Edwards. Our marriage of 38 years created two sons, who reside in Central Wisconsin, two wonderful grandchildren with a third on the way!
  • As a young boy growing up in Wisconsin Rapids, I was a Cub Scout and a Boy Scout, and learned to “help other people at all times.” I also had a youth membership (paid for by an anonymous donor) at the then “brand-new” YMCA in Port Edwards where I learned to swim and respect other youth. The Boy Scouts and the YMCA both provide United Way Partner Programs and played very important roles in my early life.
  • My sister Melody, seven years my junior, was born with the disabling disease of Cerebral Palsy. Throughout her entire life, United Way Partner Programs have helped immensely to improve her quality of life. One of her favorite activities was swimming in the Port Edwards YMCA pool.
  • Maybe you, or a family member, or a friend have also been touched by United Way Partner Programs and could tell a wonderful story similar to mine.
  • Please join me in this year’s fund raising campaign to help United Way Partner Programs succeed in delivering their programs to our youth, elderly, and to all those in need in our community. I guarantee that your donation to this year’s campaign will have a tremendous impact on the greatest needs that exist in our community!
