• Give Time ~ Volunteer. Call 715-421-0390 to volunteer
• Villa Pines Living Center~ Volunteers are needed to wrap gifts for the residents on Tuesday December 13th at 1:30 p.m.
• Heart of Wisconsin Chamber of Commerce~ Volunteers are needed to assist with office duties and the selling of gift certificates. Help spread the “Buy Local” Holiday message.  Call 715-423-1830 to get involved.
• Girl Scouts~ Volunteers are needed for the Shine Lunch Program at Grand Marsh Elementary Wednesdays thru Dec.21st. Volunteers are also needed to help at the Community Connects Program in Adams-Friendship 2x a month thru February from 4:30-5:30pm.
• Lowell Center~ Soup, Sandwich and Bake Sale volunteers needed on Saturday Nov. 19th from 9am-5pm. Bakers and Soup makers are also needed. Call Sally at 715-422-2873 to volunteer.
• Lincoln High School~ Purchase a community candle to help disadvantaged    children. Students in the volunteer program shop for and wrap gifts purchased with the proceeds.
• Salvation Army~ Bell ringers are needed at the following locations: Piggly    Wiggly in Nekoosa, IGA (W.Grand & Baker St), Wal-Mart, Rapids Mall, Copps and Shopko. Call Barb to sign up at 715-325-5215.
• River Cities Community Access~ Volunteers are needed to videotape local  holiday programs and Christmas concerts.
• Boys and Girls Club of the Wis. Rapids Area~ Volunteer during the holiday break; play games or share a holiday hobby or interest.
• Riverview Medical Center~ Volunteer drivers are needed to deliver nutritious meals to area residents during the holidays and throughout the year.
• Big Brothers Big Sisters~ Become a Big Brother or Big Sister and change the life of a child in the community.
• Holiday Gifts
• Toys for Tots~ Drop off new unwrapped toys for children in need in the         community at any of these locations: Awards N More, Bull’s Eye Credit Union, Culver’s, Dollar Tree, Hotel Mead, Jazzercise Center, Maurices, Nekoosa Port Edwards State Bank, Shopko, UPS Store. Call United Way’s Volunteer Center for a complete list of locations at 715-421-0390. Runs thru December 12th 2011.
• Hope’s Door~ Help those in need this holiday season by donating new unwrapped toys to Hope’s Door. They will distribute them to their eligible clients and their families in time for the holidays. Also accepts clothing and monetary donations. Call Hope’s Door for more information. 715-421-2622.
• Hope House Baraboo~ Adopt-A-Family holiday program connects community members with Hope House clients who cannot afford gifts. Call 608-356-9123 to adopt a family.
• Food Pantries
• South Wood County Emergency Pantry Shelf~ Donate canned goods, dry goods and personal care items. Monetary donations also accepted. Call 715-422-2050 for more information.
• Christian Life Fellowship~ Donate canned goods, dry goods and personal care items. Monetary donations also accepted. Call 715-887-3565 for more             information.
• The Family Center~ Donate canned goods, dry goods and personal care items. Call 715-421-1511 for more information.
• Winter Clothing
• The Lowell Center~ Hats, scarves, mittens, gloves are collected and given to The Family Center in time for the cold weather.
• Coats for Kids~ Bins are located at Rapids Mall, St. Paul’s Lutheran, and Shopko. Coats, hats, scarves, mittens and gloves in good condition accepted. Donations accepted until December 15, 2011.
