• Donations of NEW toys are needed for distribution to needy children. Toys can be dropped off at the Wood County Courthouse Auditorium on Tuesday, December 15th from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. • High School Students needed to help with the ‘Hip ‘n Hop’ class over Christmas break.
Volunteers will assist the instructor with supervision, enforcing safety and most of all having fun!

• Volunteer to be on our Disaster Action Team, free training provided.

• Volunteer to help at blood drives – become a donor room aid, canteen helper or registrar; make reminder calls to donors or deliver posters to area businesses. - Central Wisconsin Cultural Center, Inc.

• Assist with office duties –filing, answering telephone, registering individuals for classes and ticket sales.
• Assist with gallery projects and activities. Set-up of displays in gallery; assemble artist packets and/or mailings; clean-up/pack-up of exhibits.
• Assist with reception preparations -arrange for food and decorations, send out invitations; assist at reception tables/serving.
• Volunteers needed for light housekeeping; watering plants, dusting and vacuuming. - Aging and Disability Resource Center of Central Wisconsin

• Volunteer Drivers needed (using their own personal vehicle) to transport elderly or disabled individuals to medical, nutritional or other necessary appointments. Volunteer on your schedule. Reimbursement for mileage is available.
• Volunteer Drivers needed (using their own personal vehicle) to deliver hot noon meals in Wisconsin Rapids. Monday through Friday. Reimbursement for mileage is available.
• Volunteers needed to help at Wisconsin Rapids and Nekoosa noon nutrition sites. Assist with set-up, serving and clean-up.
• Volunteers interested in assisting with minor home repairs for seniors. - Lowell Center

• Donations of mittens, scarves, hats, gloves and non-perishable food items will be accepted in December. These items will be donated to the Family Center in time for the holidays.
• Volunteers needed that are interested in sharing a special talent or hobby with others. Sign up to provide 20-30 minutes of entertainment during Wisconsin Rapids Senior Center Association quarterly meetings held in Jan., April, July and October.
• Monetary donations to support Lowell Center programs; supply donations of paper products also needed. - River Cities Community Access

• Volunteers needed to videotape local holiday programs and Christmas concerts. Volunteers will be trained.
• Volunteers needed year round for videotaping all sport events at area schools.
The Family Center

• Volunteers needed to be Shelter Assistants. Compassionate, empathetic listeners needed to work in the shelter with women and families in domestic crisis.
• Volunteers needed to be Sexual Assault Victim’s Advocate. Volunteers provide advocacy and support to victims of sexual assault during and after the emergency room examination.
• Volunteers needed to be Visitation Aides. Duties include data entry, making appointments and maintaining a filing system.- Lincoln High School Volunteer Program

• Buy a community candle to help disadvantaged children.
• Students needed to shop or wrap presents for Community Candle Program. - Boys and Girls Club

• Donations needed: paper plates, plastic forks and spoons, and craft supplies such as foam, construction paper, beads, etc.
• Volunteers are needed to help with tutoring, playing games or sharing a holiday hobby or interest.
• Donate healthy snacks for the after-school snack program. - Child Care Resource and Referral

• Become an office helper and help distribute newsletter
• Organize the resource library
• Donate 8.5” X 11” paper, postage or mailing supplies. - North Central Community Action Program’s Family Resource Center
1430 2nd St. N., Wisconsin Rapids
• New toys are needed for the “Christmas is for Children Project.” Toys needed to be $20-25 and unwrapped. They can be dropped off at the Home Builder’s Association, the Family Resource Center or any Toys for Tots location.
• Used toys are also accepted and will be given to low-income children through the Family Resource Center Program. - Salvation Army of South Wood County
• Bell ringers needed for the following locations: Piggly Wiggly in Nekoosa, IGA (West Grand and Baker St.), Walmart, Rapids Mall, Copps and Shopko. - Rudolph’s Country Christmas
• Rudolph’s Country Christmas is Saturday, December 12, 2009. Outdoor volunteers are needed for 2.5 hour shifts (10:00am-12:30pm, 12:30pm-3:00pm) to assist with wagon rides (selling tickets, directing traffic and assisting people in and out of wagons). Indoor volunteers are needed to help with the silent auction and selling postcards inside the Village Hall.
